How to Be Genuine

I interviewed Aimee Mann, who told me how to be genuine, for The One-Page Magazine in this week’s New York Times Magazine:

I think we’re overly reliant on the opinions and validation of other people. Genuine people tend to have a sense of self that is separate from what these other people like or what they dislike — they’re not totally reliant on these outside markers for a sense of self.
