Daily gratitude: early bag drop and tech skills for dummies
In my desperation to buy a little more fair time yesterday (thought about changing my flight to Sunday but it would’ve been another $300 and Wednesday’s was already not in my budget) I realized I could drop off my bag at the airport. Turns out I now have until 3:07 to catch my 3:10 flight. If I had this to do over again I’d leave much later but c’est la vie. I may not have done what someone else would’ve done but given the circumstances I’ve tried my best and have certainly eaten my way through the fair. Planning to eat lots of vegetables in the Bay Area. Trying not to think much about those events cause that’s another round of nerves, I’ll just be glad when they’re done. It’s that kind of trip. Not bad, just a lot of travel learning curves. I should get used to it since I’ll be in Dubai in a month. I only hope I can learn from my travel errors. I have been so good the last few years about my arrival times and planning and figuring out fastest routes.
It’s my tech ignorance that appalls me too, but biggest lesson of this trip, well worth the $300: I can search my email using, shockingly, the search function. I feel like my iPhone should be recused for not knowing that, and now that I do, I feel like I have a new device in my hands. I may be a tech ignoramus but I can learn new tricks. Hopefully cheaper ones from now on.
